As a big fan of Plex and what they are doing, having Plex available on virtually any device with a screen and internet connection, you can now enjoy the Live TV feature for free no Plex Pass required.
Unfortunately, this offer is set to expire June 30th, so I encourage anyone reading this if you don’t have a Plex Pass, to take advantage of this feature.
Follow my recent tutorial on setting up IPTV on Plex using xTeVe, to get TV on your device, I recommend using Roku for this one as it does have a nice EPG interface, follow along here
Although the Live TV feature is free, PVR is not available, only live TV, the EPG will work however this free version collects 48 hours of TV guide information as the Pless Pass provides 2 Weeks of data.
If you are completely new to Plex and would like to try it for yourself now, head over to Plex, create an account free, download the Plex software to your PC, Mac, Linux or NAS machine, if you have an antenna, and a USB TV tuner adapter even better, this can be connected to your machine and set up accordingly, check out the full list of supported DVR’s Antennas and TVtuners
